Frederick Hart’s Appassionata is aptly named for one of Ludwig von Beethoven’s most familiar and beloved sonatas for piano. Both the sonata and Hart’s sculpture are magnificent expressions of breathtaking beauty, blending fiery emotion and soothing repose in perfect unity. Through Hart’s mastery of “sculpting with light,” the inner mystery and passion of love are exquisitely revealed in Appassionata.
