Heavyweight championship bout between Rocky Marciano and Ezzard Charles at Yankee Stadium. Marciano, known as the Brockton Blockbuster, had a professional record of 49 consecutive wins, which still stands today. He was the heavyweight boxing champion from 1952 ? 1956 and retired undefeated. This former local shoe worker died in a plane crash in Iowa in 1969 at the age of 46.
