Jamie Lisa Artist
Traditional Floral and Landscape ArtistLearn More About Jamie Lisa
At an early age Lisa began to draw and paint images of the lush Korean countryside. She loved the colors and beauty of nature. Because of this, Lisa paints still-life floral bouquets. In fact, the colorful countryside of European landscapes are some her favorite subject matters. For example, fields of sunflowers, lavender and poppies inspire her. Her use of color is excellent and her technique involves the use of pallet knife work with thick strokes and paint on canvas. In turn, this adds a great amount of depth to her landscape and still-life paintings.
Lisa’s original oil paintings have been acquired by numerous private collectors. However, she is also represented by selected fine art galleries throughout the Asia, Canada, and the United States. Further, Lisa’s art receives international recognition.
Notably, Lisa has won many awards and honors in the National Student Fine Art Competition in Seoul, Korea. For example, Lisa is a member of the Korean Fine Art Association, and the Korean Women Oil Paintings Association. In addition, her artwork has been in many shows such as the Korean Modern Arts Grand Exhibition in Seoul, as well as many others. “I’m really a colorist. The colors burst from the canvas and evoke a sense of happiness from the viewer. Once again the artist uses bold brush strokes and a thick application of paint to give the composition wonderful depth and dimension. That’s what challenges me. The resulting tones of my work are the yellows and oranges of Spain and Morocco and the olives and crimsons of the Mediterranean. The happy placement of my subject matter seemingly narrates life’s journeys. They tell stories of being together or apart and of creating identity”, said Jamie Lisa.
