Ken Rausch

Wavy Copper and Stainless-Steel Wall Sculptures

Learn More About Ken Rausch

Ken Rausch began his sculpting career by attending the Art Academy of Cincinnati. Here, he discovered techniques of painting on metals and manipulating metals. As a metal artist, Rausch uses these techniques of grinding, hammering, and bending to create stunning wall sculptures.  Furthermore, these abstract pieces come in customizable colors and sizes.

Ken Rausch uses a process that involved heat and acid-etching to make each piece unique.  Along with this, he uses a combination of metallic and acrylic paint to create an iridescent texture by layering multiple colors on copper or steel.  Furthermore, he takes these vibrant colors and places them strategically on the metals. Rausch also pushes these abstract compositions further by using a specialized grinding tool to create texture and depth.  With this, each piece has sense of depth and movement.

Finally, Rausch finishes each piece with a clear resin to layer more textures and depth.  This resin seals in each layer of color and creates a glossy shine that transforms into a glass look finish.  Rausch then manipulates the metal by bending multiple waves to create movement and balance.  With this, his pieces reflect the evolution of combining painting and sculpture.  As a result, Rausch enjoys working with these different components because they fit together in different ways and result in a uniquely individual artwork.

Ken Rausch’s metal wall sculptures can be found in numerous private, corporate collections, and fine art galleries throughout North America.  Lastly, customize a personalized metal sculpture by contacting info@artleaders.com.
