Contemporary Abstract Figurative Paintings
Lia Kim creates stunning large-scale figurative abstracts. Each painting is striking due to its thick oil paint textures, abstract colors, and musical influences. Furthermore, Kim expresses each figure to be interacting with musical instruments to enhance each figure’s pose. In addition, Kim will use heavy textures and palette knife painting techniques to abstract her backgrounds. Kim also uses a palette knife to create abstract, contour lines for her elongated figures. As a result, she has created a signature art form by combining these contour line figures with music and abstract paint strokes.
Kim was born in Seoul, Korea where she began her passion for art in her formative years. Furthermore, Kim’s mother was a teacher and taught her drawing and painting skills at a young age. Her passion grew and she graduated from Kyung Hee University, College of Fine Arts where she learned many fine art techniques. As a result, she developed her signature style after school and was featured in several private exhibitions in Korea.
Kim’s artwork quickly became widespread once she exhibited her paintings at the New York Art Expo. Audiences enjoy her elongated figures and know her signature abstract palette knife backgrounds. Lastly, you can acquire her collection by contacting email@example.com.
