124.D is a collection of faces that the Piccillo had gathered through his career (some that he has used in other works). Like all of his work, Piccillo used imagery that peaked his interest. Using his masterful eye for composition, he was able to create a compelling juxtaposition of stillness and movement. Piccillo’s ultimate goal for his artwork was to let the viewer make their own story – especially with his portraiture. According to his daughter, Piccillo didn’t want to dictate what the viewer saw within – which is why none of his artworks had true titles.
