Christopher Peter is known for using unconventional materials, and his mixed media silhouettes blur the line between portraiture and vibrant abstract painting. Thus, his work is a reflection of his ultimate goal – using art to explore the relationship between us and how we experience our surroundings.

Christopher Peter creates his works completely by hand, and he lets the painting guide his process.  First, he develops the entire prep layer. Then, the underpainting is next. Following the underpainting, he adds layers of paint and collage until the piece starts to come together. Finally, he renders the portrait and the negative space. Furthermore, Christopher tends to gravitate towards blues and metallics in his works.
