Learn More About C. Giliano

In 1946, C. Giliano was born in Junbook Korea. Transitioning into his academic journey, at the age of 17, he gained admission to Seoul National University, commencing his fine art studies. His innate abilities secured him a Special Prize in the Seoul University Fine Art Competition in 1963. Subsequently, in 1964, he clinched the Grand Prize at the College of Fine Art, Hongick University Competition.

Opting for the romantic ambiance of Parisian streets as his primary subject matter, Giliano imbues his paintings with a dreamy, turn-of-the-century style. This preference encompasses the enchanting architecture and bustling boulevards of Paris. His palette exudes warmth, inviting viewers into scenes punctuated by dramatic interplays of light and shadow. Often, the streets appear glistening with rain, mirroring the glowing lights emanating from the cozy shops and cafes. Occasionally, a more contemporary street scene emerges, characterized by figures adorned in current fashion trends.
