Hugues Claude Pissarro, also known professionally as Isaac Pomié, is the grandson of the famous Impressionist painter Camille Pissarro and son of the artist Paulemile Pissarro. Born in Neuilly-sur-Seine in 1935, he spent his childhood and youth with brushes in his hand growing up in such an artistic family. His first show was when he was only fourteen and he subsequently went on to study art in various prestigious establishments in Paris before finally becoming a professor of art in Monaco. His work has evolved throughout his career in various styles and techniques, but he is perhaps known best for his Impressionist works, known collectively as “Petit Claude”.
As with man of his family predecessors, the scope of Pissarro’s work and talent is wide-ranging. He was commissioned in 1959 to create a portrait of President Eisenhower. Pissarro is now perhaps best known for his post-Impressionist works which have been exhibited world wide since 1985.
