Artist Bio:
L. Garvin is a self-taught artist who found an interest in art at a very young age. While still a student, he began to draw and paint still life images, landscapes and people, finding his passion. He found a successful career in graphic design, trading in the intimacy of painting for the stability of commercial art. After retiring, he decided to reacquaint himself with his passion, and once again began painting. Since then, he mostly enjoys creating classical figurative oil paintings with a unique, contemporary style. His soft abstract backgrounds make the figure the focal point of the painting, with women, life, experience and nature the center of his inspiration.
