Like a winemaker building the solid foundation of the next vintage by toiling in the vineyard, Arvid uses a natural sepia tone to sketch his composition, as seen in Life of the Party, before the true colors are laid in. Ultimately, this gives him the opportunity to re-work values and perfect the layout before adding color. He insists that the best thing about travel is coming home. In fact, he believes the foundation laid at home by his wife and two young sons gives him the freedom to explore and build his work, and his passions, for art and wine. Sometimes the “life of the party” is right at home.
