Tony Anderson Biography

Tony Anderson (Korean)

Tony was raised by very talented family. His brother is a tenor, and her sister is also an artist. His mother, who is a fashion designer, often took her children to museums and orchestra concerts to broaden their own talents. Tony found his passion in art and decided to pursue a career as an artist. Although his obvious talents granted his admission to the prestigious Hongik Art College, he turned down the offer due to financial difficulty. Instead, he joined a group of artists who painted murals and projects for various companies. At the age of 24, he was hired by a publishing company in Houston, TX to create decorative illustrations.

Eventually Tony went to college to further his studies, but instead of majoring in art, he decided to major in Korean Literature. He believed that studying literature would help him broaden his imagination and add another dimension to his art. In his earlier paintings, he was very detailed and strived to present a photographic replica of nature or still life paintings, but as he influences evolved to the art of Impressionists, he chose to utilize brighter colors and explore the subtleties of light and shadow. When he paints, he wants his audience to feel the same sensational experience from nature and color as he does.

Tony is best known for his landscape, seascape, florals, and musical paintings. His painting can be found at select fine art gallery throughout the US and abroad.
