His personal favorite subjects are landscapes and his paintings have captured many fans around the world. “Painting directly from nature means the world to me. It opens up new dimensions in the way I see light and color and deepens my appreciation for nature and life as a whole.”

Pan Mossi was born in 1968 in Shanghai, China. He fell in love with art at the age of 13 when he had the chance to enter his artwork into a contest. At that time Mossi’s parents disapproved of his desire to become an artist. Despite the fact that his parents were against it, he enrolled himself in Shanghai Normal University Fine Art program. During his college years he exhibited his work with his classmates and was recognized for his outstanding work.

With his family going through financial difficulties, Mossi had to put aside his dream of being an artist for a few years. He tried to work at other jobs, but ended up quitting within months. Not being able to hold a stable job, Mossi’s uncle suggested he move to Beijing to pursue his dream as an artist. His uncle saw the talent in Mossi’s artwork and funded his supplies until Mossi made enough money to support himself and his family as an artist. Since then, he has been working as a contemporary artist.

Mossi is currently involved in the Shanghai Artist Association and the Chinese Young Artist League. He has held countless exhibitions, such as the Shanghai Chinese Oil Painting Exhibition and the Asian Young Artist Invitation Exhibition. Mossi was nationally recognized at the 40th Anniversary for the Founding of P.R.C. He was first shown in the United States at the International Art Expo in New York in 2002. His artwork is displayed in many private collections in China, Japan, Korea, Singapore, and the United States.
