Maria Rosenberg’s Biography:
Born in St. Petersburg (formerly Leningrad), Russia in 1969, Maria Rosenberg developed an early interest in art. By the age of eight years old, she was attending art classes in the Pioneer Palace of Leningrad. As a little girl, the wide treasures found in St. Petersburg’s world-famous museums like The Hermitage held her fascination. Maria would spend almost every weekend in the museum’s magnificent halls trying to learn from the Master Painters. She was especially attracted to the work of the Post-Impressionists on her style became quite evident in her later work.
Studying in a major art school in St. Petersburg, she learned the basics of painting and drawing. She expanded her art training by taking courses at the St. Petersburg academy of Fine Art and then Maria participated in a variety of group shows in St. Petersburg. At present, Maria works in an art studio in Toronto, Canada.
Maria’s paints loosely with a palette knife. She applies thick layers of primary and secondary colors creating a dynamic sense of dimension. The resulting effect is a work whose tactile quality and energized color captures its viewer’s attention.
Maria Rosenberg is an internationally known artist. Her original paintings can be found in select fine art galleries throughout Europe, Canada, and the United States.
