Learn More About Pamela Wilson

Primarily a figurative painter, Pamela Wilson is a multifaceted artist who also works in photography, printmaking, and assemblage. After earning her MFA from the University of California, Santa Barbara, she received prestigious honors including a Regents Fellowship, the Abrams Project Grant, and a Regents Award for her Thesis Exhibition.

Wilson’s work transcends the ordinary, as she creates haunting images that evoke moods, dreams, and memories drawn from everyday life. Her characters—often described as “lost, odd, mad”—embody both physical and emotional isolation, a hallmark of her style. By exploring the distortions inherent in reality, she captures the dark, absurd, and transformative moments that shape our identities, imbuing her work with both heart and balance.

Since 1992, her art has appeared in eighteen solo exhibitions—from New York City to California—and has been showcased in renowned institutions such as the National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington, DC. Pamela Wilson’s evocative paintings are collected by notable figures including Tom Skerritt, Joe Panteleone, Whoopie Goldberg, and Howard Tullman. She currently resides and creates in Santa Barbara, CA.
