Morning Song I by L. Redman
Original Floral Landscape on Canvas
Size: 48” x 24”
Price: $1500.00
SALE PRICE: $750.00
Born in Suncheon City, Korea on September 16, 1957, the artist graduated from Maisan High School before challenging the rococo complexities of the eighteenth-century French masters. His bright and monochromatic skies and dexterity of brushwork echo the mastery of Fragonard, and his delicate birds, ferns and flowers contrast beautifully with his trademark.
There are the birds, the sky, the trees and a depth into the painting where one can be alone without intrusion. The viewer is privileged to imagine a serenade from songbirds. Inspired by him surroundings, Redman often paints a favorite bird or fond recollection. He plays with depth, rhythm and symmetry as do the great composers, using them to draw us into his work. Exquisite detail and a unique mastery of light in the subject allow for a romantic ambiance for any interior. And in addition to his elegance and technical virtuosity, the careful observer will note that each L. Redman original has small visual surprises tucked away, filling every inch of his work with delight. Redman is reaching the prime of his fine art career, evidenced both by the masterful balance of color, life and light, and by his recent receipt of the 1999 Grand Prize at the Schekch National Art Exhibition in his home nation of Korea.
In 1995 he exhibited for the first time at the New York Art Expo and many collectors admired his artwork. Redman’s original oil paintings can be found on display in select fine galleries throughout in Asia and The United States.
