Brief Artist Biography
Initially, Michael Emani began studying sculpture at the University of Georgia, where he found joy in applying his woodworking skills to a novel medium. Transitioning seamlessly, he explored the fusion of textures on canvas, blending wooden and metal found pieces with bold brushstrokes to create captivating collages.

This experimentation led him to devote more time to painting, prompting a pivotal decision to change his major. During this transformative phase, characterized by a raw and rustic style, he earned a B.F.A. in Painting and relocated to Austin, Texas.

Over time, his coarse technique evolved, giving way to a cleaner aesthetic focusing on inanimate objects imbued with dynamic motion. Michael possesses a unique talent for infusing mundane subjects with a whimsical, animated allure.

In recent works, he delved into shadowy silhouettes punctuated by subtle color and highlights, showcasing a refined use of color inspired by his earlier, more spontaneous style. Michael’s artistic journey is marked by self-taught discipline and a relentless pursuit of texture and form.

His willingness to explore new mediums underscores his versatility as a painter and artist. Today, his work garners acclaim both nationally and internationally, a testament to his enduring talent and creative vision.
